Traditional education is a teacher-centered way of teaching, it focuses on the knowledge of the teacher and he just pours and gives them to his students. Traditional education is an established form of teaching that focuses on the values a culture deems most important at that time. It stands in contrast to alternative education, which may use unusual methods, teach non-traditional skills or use novel measures of progress, such as accumulating a portfolio of accomplishments.
Traditional instruction plays a big part in the success of today’s progress in teaching. It serves as the body and stepping stone for the current education to be more effective and productive. This way of teaching lets the student focus on one thing and that is to learn. The teacher serves as the only vessel of knowledge wherein the student’s main goal is to learn, absorb and focus on the knowledge and skill that the teacher can offer.
There are still lots of advantages in using the method, for example even though there’s no electricity, the teacher will still be able to deliver his lesson without interruptions by using traditional instructional materials.
Therefore, every teacher must always keep in mind that even though we are already in the 21st century teaching, everyone must still use the traditional teaching method, and never forget its importance in molding the first generation learners.
