Have you experienced from your siblings about their loss of interest in school even though they are already in college? Parents are really disgusted when their sons or daughters wants to stop studying.

I do believe that one of the reasons is early age of entry in school and the kind of nursery and kindergarten teachers who are handling or teaching these pupils. Many experts believe that some students reach their peak of learning at an early age. Some kindergarten mentors of the barangay are graduates of secondary education so they do not know the psychology and the method of teaching these pupils. This is true especially in writing and reading wherein readiness is greatly involved. So the pupils become afraid of their teachers when they cannot read or write.

Television also contributes in the pupils losing interest in school. At an early age, the yayas hired by a working mother switch on the television in order that the infants would not cry.

Parents, too play a great role in the loss of interest in school work. Some parents make their children be absent from school in order that they help in the household chores or even earn money.

But most of all, we teachers are with our pupils the whole day. When we do not have proper motivation to make the lessons interesting or we use the same method of teaching the whole year round, pupils lose their interest .

Conclusion

          1. Early age of entrance in school.

          2. Secondary graduates of kindergarten and nursery.

          3. Addiction to T.V. during infancy and onwards.

          4. Parents

          5. Peers and barkadas

          6. Size of class

          7. Teachers

Recommendations

          1. Elementary teachers should upgrade themselves by pursuing graduates studies.

          2. Seminars, training on utilization of time must be provided for teachers.

          3. Reduce the number of pupils per class to give the teachers enough time to identify the needs

          and problems of pupils.

          4. There should be parental guidance and time for watching television.
