We all know the fact that math is one of the most unlike and even feared school subject among students. As for many people find it very difficult and really struggling with it. So why not math teachers create a lively atmosphere during his/her class just to at least ease the nervousness of the student, one simple way to achieve this is by cracking out some humors without being out of the topic.
Listed below are some jokes that may help teacher and student to the teaching and learning process during math class:
Q: Why does nobody talk to circles?
A: Because there is no point!
Q: Why is an algebra book always unhappy?
A: Because it always has lots of problems.
Q: What did one math book say to the other?
A: Don’t bother me I’ve got my own problems!
Q: How do mathematicians scold their children?
A: “If I’ve told you n times, I’ve told you n+1 times…”
Q: Why do mathematicians like parks?
A: Because of all the natural logs.
Q: What does the little mermaid wear?
A: An algae-bra.
Q: What did Al Gore play on his guitar?
A: An Algorithm
Q: Who invented the Round Table?
A: Sir Cumference.
Teacher: Why are you doing your multiplication on the floor?
Student: You told me not to use tables.
Dad, can you help me find the lowest common denominator in this problem please ?
Don’t tell me that they haven’t found it yet, I remember looking for it when I was a boy!
Those are just some jokes that we can use during our math class. As it help teacher to catch the attention of his/her students, it also help the student to become more focus and aware with some of the mathematical terminologies that is used in the joke, for him to be able to get the joke of his teacher. Cracking out some jokes can be used as an ice breaker, motivation or can be used at the middle of the discussion most especially if the atmosphere of the class gets heavier. As a math teacher we should not take for granted our students who are stressing out in our subject, and being too strict and terror teacher in this subject might contribute to the reason why they will hate it even more.
