The use of technology in teaching and learning has increased dramatically as a result of the learning crisis and problems brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Because technology has become a means of knowledge transfer in most nations, it benefits both teachers and students. Technology integration has changed the way people think and live in today’s society as a result of innovations. Consequently, the new normal education’s demands and challenges altered the educational landscape in the Philippines. Teachers are being urged to begin by exploring for electronic ways to perform tasks that were formerly done using textbooks and lectures.

However, Adonis (2021), reported that despite the fact that the Department of Education provided a variety of learning options, students still lacked access to high-quality learning resources. Liza Marie Compoamor Olegario, a psychologist and educator, believes that Philippines was never prepared for a remote learning emergency. Moreover, Diosdado San Antonio, the Education Undersecretary for Curriculum, also agrees that conventional learning is one of the Philippine education system’s shortcomings. Thus, there were increased difficulties in teaching and learning mathematics during this time.

With these perceived issues, Secretary Briones stated that the Department of Education (DepEd) has been focusing on the thrust for educational digitalization. She further said that the government has been looking into different ways to give education, such as utilizing technology. Furthermore, Picha (2018), claimed that integrating technology into Mathematics allows teachers to create collaborative learning experiences that encourage problem solving and flexible thinking. Students and teachers can work together to build realistic learning experiences that boost mathematics learning.

Henceforth, technology cannot work on its own, but when it is used by a teacher who has the necessary skills and understanding, learning becomes more meaningful. It is the teacher’s tactics for manipulating or transforming technology in order for students to learn more effectively (Marpa, 2020).
