I am about to write some facts and experiences happening in my life. But, di I need to introduce myself? Everybody knows me. Almost everybody uses me in his daily rituals. A child who is started to learn the ABC, a valentine who is preparing, drafting and writing his first love letter; and a businessman who is signing some of the most important documents in the world such as the deed of sale of a property that is worth several hundreds of millions of pesos, which someday in his property lot will be erected the biggest mall in Asia.
But does everybody know my importance? I don’t think so. A lot of people do not value my existence as well. I am just a simple ballpen longing for love and care from a person who is using me. You may frequently see me in a trashcan after they used me for a long time without realizing what I have done for them. You can also find me in a drawer, holder, table and half inked waiting for the person to appreciate my significance. I don’t need to much effort of care from all of you. I don’t need to be cleaned off. You just have to value and treasure me and realize the things I have shared with you.
A lot of people are seeking my service. Teachers for lesson, students for assignments and quizzes, doctors for prescriptions, lawyers for notaries and a lot more. When we speak of feelings and emotions, a lot of lovers are using me in making their sentimental love letters. Used also by OFW’s In writing their experiences and hardships in other countries, being lonely thinking about their loved ones. I am their partner in writing those letters and cards so that they partly lessen their loneliness and homesickness.
From time to time you learn to write, you will use me up to the time you’re beginning to mature and aged. You’ll use me for a lifetime. Without me, how can you learn the ABC, 123 or even writing your full name?
Inspite of my significance, nobody accounts me to what I am doing. Instead of refilling some ink, they will just throw me anywhere. It seems, as I did something for them. Who cares. I’m just a ballpen.
