As the prime model of morality in the society, teachers are expected to uphold moral standards in life and in the profession. Obviously, the teachers should maintain the following moral standards:
Faith in God. The foremost moral standard that a teacher may demonstrate is the strong faith in God. He/she believes in the power of the Lord as the Creator and the Divine Superior. For someone who has faith in the Lord Almighty will never go wrong.
Integrity. Having the truth and veracity in the fulfilling the responsibilities in the teaching profession is what we expect from a teacher. For if someone has integrity, he/she will live an honest teaching life.
Decency. Having the proper decorum and courtesy in words and in action are absolutely commendable. Teachers being the role models in the society are likely living a decent moral life.
Respect. A teacher is always an image of respect. He/she exemplifies respect to everyone not only to a few but also to all regardless of age, gender and status.
Love. Love is the heart of the teaching profession. Teachers are loving individuals who unselfishly serve the learners in the way they can. In other words, service is their sign of love.
Industry. Teachers are known for being a hard worker that is they really put their utmost efforts just to have excellence and quality in their jobs. It is considered moral if these teachers are performing their duties well.
Care. Teachers are known to be the sweetest persons in the society for they understand every individual most especially in school. They have a big hand to help and a soft heart to influence.
Moral standards are the norms which are truly considered as good and righteous not only in the eyes of men but also in the eyes of God. Let them flow in the school for they are upright and noble.
