Dr. Jose Rizal once said something along the line “Ang hindi marunong  magmahal  sa sariling  wika  ay  masahol  pa sa  malansang  isda.”  And now over a hundred year this statement is once again on the spotlight.

Along side the new education curriculum, an issue ought to attract the ears of Pinoy Linguist. The usage of English as the major medium up on teaching academic subjects.

The opposing side disagrees because of the belief that by doing such is like disrespecting our native language, culture and heritage.

In a way that is not completely wrong, yet it’s not entirely correct either.

English being recognized as the “Universal language”  is the best way of communicating, not only American countries but other Asian and Europium countries too. By teaching students at young age would give them a somewhat useful advantage for their future collage years or life career. Now-a-days everything uses English language as its language medium, may it be adds, some news, tv shows, even product’s packaging. So learning and mastering the language doesn`t indicate that we would forget the Filipino language, it is merely adapting to the changing  industry and environment

For the language we speak do not define who we are. Being FILIPINO runs in our vains which would later on flow to our mother tongue.
