You can prepare yourself to succeed in your studies. We must try to develop and appreciate some study habits.

Take responsibility for  yourself = Recognize that in order to succeed, you need to make decisions  about  your priorities, your time and your resources.

Put first things first = Follow-up on the priorities you have set for yourself and don’t let others, or other interests distract you from your goals.

Look for better solutions to problems = If you don’t understand the course material, don’t just re-read it. Try something else, Consult other people’s opinion.

Prizes and punishments are part of a controversial topic for teachers. Many teachers see material rewards as an appropriate and effective way to manage behavior in the elementary classroom.

The idea of classroom rewards is an important concept to consider in the beginning of the school year.

Ultimately, how you use rewards in your classroom is a personal decision. There are no right or wrong answers. Like everything in teaching, what works for one teacher may not work for another. But, it does help to discuss your ideas with other educators.
