We live today in a rapidly changing technological world made possible by breakthroughs in the last two decades in frontier technologies such as biotechnology, electronics, manufacturing processes, and new materials.

In the 60’s, no one would ever have imagined that we can carry a tape recorder, radio or TV. Today, we can carry these gadgets in our palm.

So fast is the change of technology that those who do not anticipate its direction will find themselves obsolete and becoming irrelevant. As the saying goes, today’s breakthrough can easily become tomorrow’s history. Remember the video? Sony came out with the Beta format and today, only the VHS is used.

The kind of people that we need to produce out of our school system would be those who are tuned in to technology, and can handle all the hardware, software, and organisation – ware that go into managing technology.
