The Department of Education has implemented K to 12 Program and did the necessary steps for its realization for the teachers to be ready and confident in facing the challenges. They are well-equipped in terms of the following:
Trainings.The teachers under the K to 12 Program were given ample training with the contents of the curriculum and in the methods of teaching the learners.
Daily Log. The daily log took the place of the conventional lesson plan making it easier, more organized and systematic. In this way, the teachers meet their targets with the appropriate approaches and specific references.
Curriculum Guide. The curriculum guide as provided by the Department of Education serves as the backbone of the subject for it contains all the necessary topics and ideas applicable to every grade level.
Teacher’s Guide. The teachers were given guides as the teacher’s reference on a particular subject. The objectives, methods, techniques and related references were cited.
Learner’s Materials. The learner’s materials apparently are intended for the usage of the learners. These will help the teachers inguiding and in facilitating their pupils in their search for knowledge and in enhancing their learning experiences.
Pedagogy. The teaching methods taught to teachers under K to 12 Program are much better and they are highly effective. The teachers are well-abreast and well-learned with the most suitable method for a particular lesson.
Evaluation. The assessment of the pupils’ learnings are of different forms now. It is not only written but there is an actual performance test to gauge the pupil’s development and progress.
Grading System. The grading system is also different from the past. It is of different style and approach. The teachers under the K to 12 Program were oriented very well regarding the new system.
The teachers’readiness for the K to 12 Program became the focus of the Department of Education and our officials in DepEd see to it that our teachers are ready before teaching under K to 12 Program.
