The advent of computers has put a new order to our educational system. Gone are the days when a teacher would write everything on the board to discuss the lessons for the day. The system of education has embraced the technological advances.
With the pupils themselves being computer-literate, education has to step ahead. The use of multi-media in classroom discussions has found its relevance. This is the reason why schools today have adopted a computer generated education to keep in step with the call of the times. Today, schools are equipped with e-classrooms to keep the interest of pupils hooked at education. This is a step towards the right direction since there is a need to computerize the educational system in accordance with international standards.
Another step being undertaken by today’s teachers is the use of computer-generated instructional materials which capture the attention of the pupils especially those who prefer visual instructions.
The use of the chalkboard is slowly being converted to something relevant to computers. Even the whitechalk which has been part and parcel of teaching is slowly being treated to oblivion.
But the good news is, the use of multi-media in today’s education has produced outstanding results in the pursuit of quality education. Multi-media has found its way in the mainstream of our educational system and has caused wonderful results which have been proven to be beneficial to the system.
