It has been more than three months since Bataan declared community quarantine from enhanced to general community quarantine to be exact. This was part of our combat against the spread of COVID – 19. This pandemic changes our lives from old normal to new normal. New normal in the sense that social distancing, wearing of mask and frequently washing our hands were very necessary.

The Coronavirus shows us how terrible it really is to waste our lives, wealth and even our career. It also demonstrates the value of freedom. The freedom to move, to be with our love ones and to live with peace away from any doubts and worries.

Billions of people are in lockdown, unable to visit one another, unable go to work, unable to meet one another in public places. People around the world struggling, suffering, and desperate at home, in care homes and intensive care units, dying of the same cause, separated from their love ones in their hours of need.

In this pandemic, it clearly shows that nothing is different between rich and poor. Even how rich we are if we are COVID – 19 positive we need to heal our own. No one will take care of you aside from the nurses and doctors in the hospitals. You will die that no one by your side. Your family cannot mourn you as the usual.

Above all, it shows us the importance of our businesses and economies. A lot of businesses were temporarily closed. Many of employees become unemployed due to community quarantine. Many families suffered from food shortage. And even religious activities were prohibited. Everything were stop without an inch of idea on how it will resolve and eventually it will back to normal situation.

Living in quarantine has been life – changing. It gives us time to reflect not just for myself but to the entire people of the world as well. Our education system will also be facing this big challenge since face to face set up is prohibited.

I realized, that the most important lesson that all of us must knew was being patient with the situation and trust in God’s perfect time to heal us.
