During the old times, this concept wasn’t of everyone’s eye. But because of the evolving phase of man’s varied social roles and rights in its entirety, the GAD concept is reborn in its might.
First question is, what is the meaning of gender equality?
To start off, by definition, it requires equal enjoyment by women and men of opportunities, resources, rewards, socially valued goods, decision makings, and recognition for that matter.
Now, next question can be asked, what is the importance of recognizing gender equality for everyone?
Ideally, it is basic human right for self preservation. Definitely, it will also bring out possible prevention of violence against women and girls thus making our communities safer and healthier in any society at large. Equality on a lighter note breeds confidence, productivity and a rich ground for people to be amiable and sociable.
In my mind, the dictates of the society’s standards and norms in the context of the gender equality position will only be viable and effective if established policies and guidelines will be clearly put in place.
Foremost, notwithstanding the vital role of direct prevention of gender biases in terms language used, nature of work, and in workplace scenarios itself.
Once gender equality is maximized, projection states there will be a sustained reduction of poverty elsewhere in the world.
For in my readings, it says that, in the recent statistics, about 700 million women and girls can lead a wide range of roles equally as that of young boys and men in its finest! They will have a chance to develop their natural talent and eventually enrich the society and nation as whole. Aja, aja for Gender Equality!
