Part of the school activities is an online earthquake drill and orientation to the learners as well as to the teachers at all schools. The Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill is urged to conduct by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) quarterly, amid the threat of corona virus disease (COVID-19).
Hence, all schools are encouraged to initiate a webinar on the earthquake preparedness to inform every individual the proper way on how to get out of the building or their houses in designated time during the disaster. The awareness on what to do in case an earthquake occurs should be explained to all learners for the prevention of casualties. Video presentation on earthquake drill can also be used as an additional knowledge to all learners on how to properly response with the kind of a sudden catastrophe.
Appropriate way on preparedness of what to do before, during and after an earthquake should be properly informed before the start of an online simulation. All students, teachers, and other school employees should be notified regarding the proper conduct of a “Duck, Cover and Hold” position. Earthquake preparedness is important so that every individual would know how to react immediately and appropriately.
