Learners of today and even some of our teachers are having a difficulty analyzing, solving, or even recalling the process on how to solve a certain problem in mathematics ranging from basic algebra to differential equations.

In todays electronic age, many applications are released in PC and even on your smartphones to aid us in solving some of the problems that mathematics may throw at us. I personally use them and I want to share it to everyone so that you may be enlightened in terms of solving any Math problems.

First is an app named “MATHWAY”, it is an application developed by Bagatrix for your Android and IOS devices, it has a counterpart in a PC version called “BAGATRIX SOLVED”.  It  has a user friendly interface and a very easy instructions on how to input your expressions. Once you’ve entered your expressions or equations, there are sets of options located on a drop down menu box in which you choose what you want to do with your data. There are at least 7 tabs consisting of Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Graphing, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. There are two version of the said application. The free version offers to solve your given expression or equation and gives you the answer directly. While the paid version usually amounting to 250 pesos, offers to solve it while also showing you the steps on how did the app end up with that answer. My verdict on this app is I give it a 8 stars out of 10. Answers are 100% always correct the problem is that it over simplifies the final answer. Sometimes for our final answer we are satisfied with fractions separated with their respective operations. In this app it always look for its LCD and gives you the final answer as that.

Next in line is an app also known as “MALMATH”, I have recently discovered this application due to the fact that sometimes I am having trouble with the proper steps on how to solve a certain in my Differential Equation class. This app is a free app offered at the Google Play Store. The functions are almost the same as “Mathway”. The good side is your don’t have to pay for this app to show you the step by step process on how to solve a given equation. Same as Mathway it overly simplify the final answer, but the good side because you will see the solving process step by step, you may always back track and see how it ended up like that.  The only problem I see here is a very limited instruction on how to input your problem on this application. Sometimes there excess boxes that are shown in the screen which misleads you to think that you have a missing constant or variable or even a symbol or simply to think that you have input a different equation from what you are supposed to.

Lastly, you may not consider this a very portable way to solve or help you with you equations but for me this one is the best. Because there are varying way on how we learn. We try to focus on what best suits our need to learn. So in my personal opinion “Youtube” is still the best. I personally, to learn is that I need someone explain it to me for me to remember the concept of something. I rarely absorb anything that I’ve just read unless it really captured my attention. Aside from that during every of my free time. I watch Math tutorial from the channel of “PatrickJMT” short for Patrick Just Math Tutorials.

I’ve chosen his channel due to the fact that for me he can clearly conveys the idea on how to solve a certain topic in mathematics. There are many channels in Youtube that you may choose from. Find the one that best suits you.

The applications and sites posted here are just guides and help you on your dilemma in solving mathematic problems. I believe that no should have a difficult time understanding Mathematics. But make sure that you do not depend of this apps and sites to solve all your Math problems. Remember that math did not taught us how to be lazy and to always depend on others for help  but rather it taught us to be a more critical thinker and how to solve every problems that we face.
