As teachers of the new generation, we are being faced wih the latest and affirmative challenges that will truly test our skills, abilities and talents.  The current demands in the teaching profession may be quite difficult but the goal is indeed promising.

 

Under the new curriculum which is the K to 12 Program in Republic Act No.10533, an act enhancing the Philippine basic education system by strengthening its curriculum, teachers must embrace a lot of responsibilities yet meaningful undertakings.

Building strong foundations for lifelong learning, excellence in education, empowering individuals and making them locally and globally competitive, developing their critical and creative thinking and transforming themselves and others are the aims of the said worthwhile program.

It means that attaining the objectives of K to 12 Program entails a lot of tasks for teachers now-a-days.  That is why the Department of Education conducted mass trainings for the K to 12 teachers for them to be well-equipped and well-abreast with the great and positive challenges in the teaching profession.

K to 12 Program consists of the best and relevant subjects that will really work on to mold our learners in order for them to grasp more knowledge and skills for their development and progress as citizens of the country.  In line with this, the teachers must be more creative, critical, resourceful and inquisitive in preparing and in manifesting the teaching job bestowed on them.

Moreover, teachers must be more dynamic and enthusiastic in building up the foundations of the learners in the most appropriate and accurate ways in order to widen their path and prepare their bright future.

Furthermore, the subjects, activities, strategies, techniques and methods of the K to 12 Program are more innovative for the pupils or students to be stimulated and eventually be focused in the process of complete learning and full development.

Teachers must wholeheartedly embrace these new and positive challenges in the teaching profession.  Remember that the future of the child partly lies on us.  We are being trusted by the country, by the parents and by the stakeholders to work on for the transformation of our educational clientele.

The challenges brought by K to 12 Program in improving our craft for the benefit of the learners and the employment of our willingness and abilities us teachers will truly realize a better and much effective education in our country.  Be ready to face the challenges!
