Students  nowadays  are  fond  of  utilizing  modern  technologies  and  resources. Due  to  this,  fast  phasing  modernization  of  technologies,  learning  must  be  conducive  by upgrading  learning  process.  In order  to  know  if  there  is  learning,  there  must  be  an assessment.

Proficiencies  and  competencies  can  be  able  to  assess  by  allowing  the students to perform it manually. An actual performance can bring out skills or first hand experience of an individual. New ways in assessing students’ performances are not exactly different from the past centuries through innovations are injected. Approach of conveying the lesson becomes very sophisticated. It is more particular with hands – on activities rather than just listen. Students are more active especially when there are movements and sounds that create different moods. There are varieties of practice exercises and situations that relate to their performances.

The manner of assessment will also lead the students’ ideas on how to understand direct then in performing the activity. There are also levels and divisions according to their capabilities. The students’ response to the assessment depends on the value of learning that he or she has acquired. One must also consider the students’ natural interests. Teachers must remember that it is not the values of performances are to be assessed but the values of application and retention of learning.

The basis of assessment can get to what is being taught. The process must be congruent with the students’ skills and their personality. The retention of learning must be also developed for a follow – up assessment.

A sole process of assessing a student does not end. It must be done several times to consider the factors of obtaining knowledge and learning.
