Being an English teacher, the following ways should be considered in order to achieve outstanding results in teaching. The following approaches are best applied:
Have dynamic involvement activities
Have the learners be fully engaged. Involving children in various creative activities before reading the text means that they are fully prepared, and excited, about the reading journey ahead of them. Through active painting session, music composition, a film project, in role playing or sculpture, the learners will have a chance to share vocabulary, ideas and concepts which give their reading freshness in meaning and purpose.
Specify clear purpose
Make the learners realize the purpose of their undertakings. The teacher should aim to provide children with a clear purpose to all the reading and writing tasks.
Have professional publishing
One effective way of appreciating children’s work as well as providing a real motivation, is to plan various ways to publish their writing. The school paper can be a great vehicle for the publication of their compositions.
Have meaningful planning
In advance of teaching, teachers pool resources and share their ideas for planning through a mind mapping process. Meaningful, creative activities are planned for, ensuring that teachers know exactly what the children will be learning and why. Mind map is a useful tool for better learning.
Be focused on strategies
As children’s articulacy in reading rises, it’s hard to know what reading skills need to be taught, and when. The teacher should ensure that specific reading strategies are modeled explicitly to the class; this provides children with a holistic bank of skills to draw upon.
Have stimulating learning environment
Take a trip to our school and you’ll find classroom environments which motivate the learners. Not only is the children’s work displayed creatively, but there is a variety of learning stimuli to inspire and support all pupils. We want to encourage our children to discover new texts, genres and authors, so our reading areas are inviting, well- resourced and highly organized.
Have drama to engage and inspire
The use of drama is such a powerful tool in teaching. Teachers use a range of techniques to promote the exploration and analysis of characters, situations and historical events. This process expands the pupils’ imaginations, and provides them with the ideas they need to give their writing that extra spark and flair.
Have rigorous teaching of spelling and phonics
All children can benefit from tailored teaching, making maximum progress as a result. All phonics and spelling activities are fun, multi-sensory and physical as possible but the firmness in teaching is evident.
The grammar concepts taught creatively
Pupils begin to understand grammar concepts, and start to activate them in their own writing, when they start to read with a writer’s mind. Punctuation rules or mechanics and techniques are manifested in thetexts.
