In view of the Department Memorandum DM-CT-2023-166 on the Administration of the National Learning Camp Assessment for Grade 7 and 8, Olongapo City National High School checks all the facilities relative to this department programs, projects, and activities. Mr. Janssen Aguilar, School’s ICT Coordinator checks the functionality of all DepED Computerization Program making 121 functional units ready for the NLCA with an average of two thousand Grade 7 and 8 takers set for July 3 to 7, 2023. COMTEQ, PLDT, and Asian Vision extended their technical assistance in checking the consistency of the internet connection a week before the camp.
Since it will be an online assessment, learners were given their own Microsoft 365 accounts which were enrolled by their advisers on the National Education Portal. A Learner’s Reference Number is needed to log on to the portal to take the national assessment. DepEd Usec. Gina Gonong stated that one of the aims of the program is to concentrate on the areas of reading, math, and science and will last three weeks “for students that are already better” and five weeks “for students that need more support.” Through this learning camp the Department of Education may craft intervention materials and activities to bridge the learning loss due to the pandemic.
