Schools strive to offer the greatest possible learning environment for every Filipino. Aside from providing great instruction, one of the primary concerns of schools is to provide a safe, child-friendly, and motivating environment. A school’s effectiveness can be measured by its quality of instruction, excellent delivery of fundamental educational services, and suitable learning atmosphere.
Olongapo City National High School supports the Department of Education’s program, which began in 1995 with DECS Memorandum No. 77, s. 1995, as part of the national effort to create a “clean and green” society. OCNHS launched its school-based Project SIGA or School Inside a Garden, reviving the project’s original objective which schools would be in a garden-like environment. All departments were given two months to prepare for the school-based awarding of Best Project SIGA Implementer.
Concluding the school-initiated programs, projects, and activities, among eight departments that joined, TLE Department was awarded as third runner-up, followed by the Science Department landed as second runner-up. Meanwhile, Filipino Department plucked the first spot, and English Department was proclaimed as the School’s Best Implementer of Project S.I GA. Currently, the school is preparing for the Search for Division SIGA Program Best Implementers.
