Physical education is synonymous to fitness. It is safe to say that not all physical education students are physical fit for various reasons.

To others, students physical education does not allot study time compared to other subjects. Some stressed that academic performance in more important than fitness. There are many good things a students can get from physical education. Apart from fitness, interaction skills will be more enhance and developed. Students will learn how to communicate with others, through team or group activities, but the primary concern of Physical Education and Health promote the development of active and healthy lifestyle. Physical education focuses on five strands namely: Body management, movement skills, games and sports, rhythm and dance and physical fitness.

One factor that will improve the performance of students in physical education is their learning styles. According to the Dunn and Dunn Learning Styles Models as acted by Tenedero in his book AHA! I Gotcha! Conventional classrooms might affect the achievement of students with different learning styles.

This Dunn and Dunn Learning Style models is grouped under five (5) major categories, the environmental element which includes sound, light, temperature and design. The model claimed that all these factors are contributory to the learning of the students. Another learning style model is the emotional element which includes motivation, persistence, responsibility and structure. Socio logical elements include alone, pair, peer and team, authority and variety. Physiological elements include perceptual strengths, intake, time of day and mobility. And the last is the Psychological elements. This includes analytical, global, impulsive and reflective.

Also, based from these elements, we can see that no two students or individuals are exactly alike.

In this case, teachers must be aware of the learning modalities of students through an inventory of their learning strategies.
