Teachers, be proud if you are assigned to do a task or a job by your school principal. Why? The principal feels or believes that you are the special one who has the knowledge or expertise for a particular job. He is trusting you and confident that you can do the task.
But words of caution, we must honor every commitment we will make. If you realized that you are not yet ready or you can’t make it, then do not commit. Express or promise only what you can deliver. However, if you think you can do the task, by all means do it, since this is for the good organization. Teachers by all means must take care of their reputation by minding our character, for character is even superior to our work.
As Lloyd George puts it, “There is nothing so fatal to character than half-finished tasks”
These teachers who can be delegated to do special assignments must be happy for they are being mentored to be the future educational leaders. This feeling of fear when assigned to task that is rather strange or new to you must be treated as a challenge not a problem.
In the first place the school principal will not ask you to do the job if you are not competent.
The American Baptist quoted that “the fisherman who is afraid to risk his bait will never catch a fish”. “The farmer, who refuses to take his seed corn to the field for fear of losing a few grains on the way, will never reap a harvest”.
As teachers, learn to focus more on your strengths together with your coworkers and your superior. Always observe teamwork in every task and this is for the success of the organization.
