Children in school are not only trained academically, but they are also observed on how to maintain good practices and proper hygiene. One of the difficulties faced by the pupils during classes is on how to concentrate with the lesson once the problem of head lice attacks them. These are the tiny insects that feed the blood of the children’s scalp. An infestation of head lice, called pediculosis capitis, most often affects children. With this reason, it is not easy for them to manage their studies. Hence, it is necessary for them to learn the practices and proper hygiene which is needed in combating this kind of struggle. Children should be properly informed because these lice may directly transfer from hair of one person to the hair of another.

Here are some ways on how to prevent the spread of head lice:

            * Don’t share items that touch the head like combs or towels.

            * Avoid activities that lead to head-to-head contact.

            * Keep belongings, especially upper body clothing, away from shared

areas like coat closets.

Another way of preventing head lice is Oplan Alis-Kuto Program that should be regularly done in school. The treatment can be conducted through station.

First station is shampooing then, combing using “suyod” and lastly, trimming of fingernails.
