Effective discipline is important for maintaining a positive atmosphere in the classroom and supporting students’ learning. Teaching strategies that support positive behavior begin by making expectations clear, teaching children how to meet them and reinforcing children appropriate subjects. When needing to address particular behaviors for individual children, it can be very helpful to work with parents and careers to develop a positive discipline pal.,
There are many reasons why discipline can be a problem in your classroom. One develop your teaching style. If aren’t reaching everyone of your student, they can become bored, disinterested and restless. If you are reaching these students by using a variety of methods, they are motivated nd less likely to cause trouble.
According to an article titled “ Discipline by Discipline by Design” suggested some techniques on how to maintain classroom discipline as follows:
- Focusing
- Direct instruction
- Monitoring
- Environmental control
Be sure you have attention of everyone in your classroom before you start your lesson. Don’t attempt to teach over the chatter of students who are not paying attention.
The key to discipline is to circulate. Get up and get around the room. While your students are working the rounds. Check on their progress.
Teachers skills in teaching will be the key for the success of their classroom environment they must develop their creativity and flexibility to achieve the daily objective.
