It is arguably annoying some of the time, but we have to comply with directives to accomplish periodically. The dictum “Do what you write and write what you do”, sums it all up. Recording everything is a daunting task. But one can leave out things in a report that will not make a document less important or less interesting. There is a purpose in what we do with all the paperwork. Record-keeping is important and if we think otherwise, then we have to re-think about its essence why we are required to accomplish them at the end of school term. Admit it, the process becomes tedious only when one is not in the best spirits to even life a form, much less fill up the spaces on the paper. Maybe the timing if off, or when we have other concerns that vie for our attention. My thoughts are about weighing the necessity against the time to accomplish our forms. Do we see redundancies that take up more of our time than they should. Are we ready to go with the paperless documentation? Can we recommend better practices to accomplish the need for documentation? Are we already “over-proceduralized”? Yes, we act of we must. Let’s improve on where we can. Where can we reduce workloads for our own quality times and other pursuits. It’s already two decades into the 21st century and there are challenges that 20th century (and earlier) mindsets can no longer solve.
