LGBT. These letters stand for “lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender”. They also stand for “love, grace, beauty, truth”. The solutions to and challenges of creating a new non-identical world are implicated in these two representations. Tolerance for LGBT has increased, advocacies for same sex marriage raised up. Although,same sex marriage is still out of the radar for Philippines”. -Sen. Pimentel.
Love knows no gender; you can love whoever you want to cherish but remember, marriage is almost as old as dirt and it was defined in the garden between Adam and Eve. One man and one woman for life; ’till death does you part. No one should ever attempt to redefine the sacredness of marriage.
Philippines is predominantly a Roman Catholic country with almost 93 percent claiming they are Christians. In spite of, our country has recently ranked as one of world’s most gay-friendly nations and homosexuality should be accepted. It is said that premarital counseling sessions would deny the access to an unbiblical wedding. According to the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), church would never allow the same sex marriage in the country. Undeniable fact: same sex marriage is understandably a sensitive religious issue.
Leviticus 18:22: “Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable”.
Ever since, some countries came out legalizing the same sex marriage, there is an outnumbered reaction on different social media sites. One of this is the Facebook rainbow display pictures that went viral when people started using the celebrate pride link created by Facebook which can transform the picture into the rainbow filter. This is to show support and solidarity for LGBT. At the same time, some people started using it as a fun-sharing tool without even knowing its actual meaning. They just used it to follow the trend on Facebook.
In relation with the proliferation of the rainbow filter is the crimson of images of LGBT people kissing while hanging on the cross with crown of thorns on their head. Many Christians all over the world are offended and disappointed; those pictures show disrespect not freedom. Think about it, how would people still support them if they keep on doing things which are not pleasing to God?
Marriage is the beginning of family, the foundation of human society. By designed, one invaluable man and one invaluable woman. Every child deserves a mom and dad who nurture him into adulthood.
Marriage-the ceremonial binding of two people into one couple. It is the institution where a man and woman join together in the promise of love. But nowadays, the traditional view of marriage is being changed by gays and lesbian couples demanding the same right. Nonetheless we should reminisce,” God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, nor Eve and Erica.
