Since before Personal Protective Equipment are very important during 1930s Factory production was booming, meaning so was the demand for welders. This lead to an overwhelming need for head protection such as goggles and face shields.

Then in continues process and study about the safety during 1940 the second world war manufacturing took most of the effort away from factories.  Then 1950s and the 1960s this era brought on the first plastic and fiberglass hardhats. During the dawn of the sixties the first adjustable spectacle and nylon-welding helmet were introduced to welders.

President Richard Nixon first signed the Occupational Safety and Health Act, which laid the groundwork for the OSHA that we know today. This act placed safety in the hands of the employers and required manufactures to warn of any hazards their products could cause then in 1980s the first fully functioning auto darkening welding helmets made their way to the market.

Because of the past study about safety from 1990s until now, there have been many advances in welding safety in the past 23 years. All of the people working in the industry must be aware about the hazards and dangerswhile working in this kind of job.  That’s why it’s very important to know where it’s started because without all of this Personal Protective Equipment we are very proem in hazards and we cannot perform our Job properly.
