Candidates have starting selling their platforms since the campaign period began. Some voters must have a difficult time in choosing candidates for the national and local positions. How can voters arrive at the best choice? Intelligent voting needs photographic memory that would bring the bitter past when millions of Filipinos rose to fight for good government. There may be groups identified by political colors but a thorough study of the candidates on the “rebound” should be carefully considered as some voters can be blinded by political affiliations of their elders. Even more, there are those gifted with favors which in Filipino culture can never be repaid and that is… “utang na loob”.

Indeed the best instrument to gauge the credibility of a would-be public official is unquestionable integrity and his transparent motivation of capabilities that are focused on the general welfare of his constituents and aligned with the country’s national development goals. Remember too, a candidate with a litany of pledges is a man of broken promises. Think and Vote Intelligently! Let the next generation reap fruits of a well-execercised right of suffrage.
