Study habit is a good practices of every individual not only the pupils but also the teachers that arouse interest to expand learnings. How learnings can be expanded if we have poor study habit.
There are some ways and factors affecting individuals to have poor study habit. The first is the teacher, second is the parents and the last is the individual itself.
We all know that teachers played the greatest factor affecting the growth and development of the child when it comes to gain learnings. Learnings that teachers teach can easily grasp by the pupils to act on it because they know that it is right. One of the teacher’s techniques or strategy to arouse interest of the child to study is by giving them daily assignments or homework. In this way pupil develops his/her good study habit. Teacher must check their work daily to know whether they do their assignments and appreciate themfor their good performance. If the teacher gave assignments or homework without going to check if they perform the task, this is the time for the child to develop their poor study habit. Because children like to impressed others to the task they perform they also need feedback and appreciation for what they did.
Parents are always the partner of the teachers in developing the child intellectually, psychologically, physically and spiritually. Parents and teachers should have one direction or path to tackle for the achievement of the child. Since teacher gave assignments or homework to the child to develop good study habit, the parents must support the teacher by guiding their children to do their assignments and homework. They must give the child enough time to do their tasks before going to play. Let them motivate their child well in the importance of having good study habit and the consequences if they do not have it. If parents have no enough time to support and guide their children in doing their assigned task. This will lead to poor study habit. Parents and teacher should have one goal and one way of achieving child’s fulfilment.
The last one is the child itself. How he/she develops his/ her good study habit? There is some situation that is hindrance to develop one’s good study habit. These are ability of the child to learn, if the child is slow learner and cannot easily cope what the teacher ask to do, this child lessen the interest to study and lessen to form a study habit. Laziness and depending on the parents also resulted to poor study habit. Allow the child to practice absent in the class also develop poor interest to learn.In thisinstances the cooperation and communication of parents and teachers is strictly needed. They need to make ways and procedure to motivate the child to have good study habit.
