The global pandemic impacts not only in the health system of all nations but also to education system they have. Following safety protocols includes the social distancing and the proper hygiene that should be observed in the beginning of the school year. How do we deal with these problems when in fact, before the pandemic we are experiencing lack of school buildings. First, students are crowded inside the small room where they settle for ten months. The chairs are worn out and needs repair or if considering students, it should be replaced by new one. Pre- pandemic, the schools lack building and other learning materials such as table, chairs, books, blackboards and many more. How do we impose the given safety protocols if that is the case? Second, the comfort rooms for students that are really needed in the school. There are reports that some schools don’t have the enough number of comfort rooms face to face classes are fastly approaching and yet, classrooms and comfort rooms are still problems. Next, every school needs a hand washing area to make sure students/ learners, even teaching and non- teaching staffs wash their hands before and after school to avoid the widespread of the virus. How do some public school follow simple health protocols when they do not have the water supply, they don’t have designated hand washing area?
Few days left before the start of new school year yet schools are not ready. Parents, teachers, students and all other stakeholders are needed to go hand and hand to solve these issues that have been there for years. There are more problems that lies in every public schools that needs to be addressed so that teaching and learning process takes place effectively.
