The growing number of cases on the pregnancy among high school students is becoming to be a relevant issue and concern in shaping of the future of the youth sector.
Aside from this, the social behavior of students in public and private educational institutions in relation to unwanted pregnancy heads to a greater risk when it comes to the prohibitive use of drugs. The government action in issuing guidelines about over-the-counter purchase of drugs is a protective restriction on the unwarranted use of drugs precluding to any abuse.
Be as it may, the adolescents still find their way to acquire such drugs from local drug outlets and stores. Such resourcefulness is a thing that can make them admirable without considering the negative implications of the unauthorized use of drugs which may lead to possible overdose as in the case of abortive actions.
Let it be a constant reminder that a pregnant individual has to watch on whatever it is that is taken into the body. Primarily, it is meant to keep the would-be-mother fit and healthy and at the same time ensure the normal development of life inside the womb. It is a medical knowledge that drugs can negatively affect the mother and the unborn child in her prenatal period. Medical research and study are congruent that the use of drugs and possible overdose can have their detrimental effects. Among them are possible miscarriage, premature labor, abruption of the placenta, low birth weight, abnormality, fetal death and even maternal death.
It is also to be conscientiously considered that a single episode of drug use can have its lasting effect in the prenatal and postnatal development of the child. In particular, drugs can affect the central nervous system of the baby. Furthermore, breast feeding mothers may not be aware that many drugs can be inherent in the breast milk which is proven harmful to babies.
With careful medical administration and proper use, drugs are made to benefit mankind as treatment and finding cure but not to make anyone an unworthy instrument of extinction.
