Empowerment according to Paz (1990) a cited by Sutaria (1993) is defined the ability to direct and control once on life, economically, politically, socially and culturally. In other word empowerment is to delegate authority or exercise authority.

The principal who are empowered as the power to determine solution to the problem. The propose solution they do not ask for them. Therefore an empower principal is a problem – solver. He also described as pro- active because he does not watched and wait for thing happen: he make things happen. He is always open to a new idea. In fact, he looked for them. I believe that principal who cannot learned from model have an ego problem. One reason is that when principal are full of pride they are unteachable. They think they know it all.

Unlike the reactive principal who merely responds when there is a problem. The proactive or in powered principal anticipate, create situations to get what he wants. One of the most important skill of principal is learning to distinguished between what is essential and what is not. The principal must decide which method the keep using and which one should but thrown away, because they are no longer effective. I also believe that the empowered principal is a good decision maker. He first gathers all the facts before making a decision and when he decides he does so, with firmness. He thinks and believed that before deciding he needs the idea with subordinate participation in decision – making, we can be sure that the group will support such decision.

An empowered principal support the subordinate in word and in deed. He gave credit where credit is due.  He appreciates and recognizes them for a job well done.

A principal who is empowered develops teamwork among his teacher, for he believe that “together everyone achieve more.”

In other word the empowered principal is capable of involving everyone in pursuing a shared vision and mission. In union there is a strength we can push a heavy load if we are all cooperates.
