Project PARTY is a school-community partnership in Cataning Elementary School that aims to support students’ learning during the implementation of distance learning. Its target is to increase the number of external stakeholders who will actively participate and consistently collaborate in the undertakings of the school at 100%.

School innovation, intervention, teaching strategies and various activities will be provided to support the needs of children and their families with an intentional, supported academic and proper utilization of learning materials and application of learning. Its scheme is to develop working relationships of the internal and external stakeholders with a shared responsibility to improve learners’ intellectual, social, and emotional well-being.

In this project, external stakeholders will be encouraged to involve themselves in planning and improving school activities. Effective communication and collaboration will be maintained during the implementation of the innovation to ensure that the needs of the learners will be met. Regular meetings with the stakeholders participating in the activities will occur to properly deliver best practices and to ensure the continuous building relationships and trust.

To address the learning needs of the pupils, the role of school-community support system will include:

  • Consultation with the teachers regarding the proper application of knowledge to learners.
  • Identifying students in need of support.
  • Early identification of gaps, progress monitoring and follow-up.
  • Coordination with the school staff to ensure that school resources are maximized and properly utilized.
  • Work as a team to facilitate strong partnership.
  • Proper consultation with the involved persons on how to integrate school-community systems.

Some actions that support successful school-community partnerships include parenting guidance, clear communication, volunteer opportunities, encouraging learning at home, inclusive decision making, and collaboration with the community. Engaging all members of the community to be intrinsically motivated co-learners and co-leaders is one of the objectives in creation of the essential foundation for successful school improvement efforts.

These partnerships will allow school faculties to work directly with community members and community-based organizations to create and implement programs that support students’ academic and nonacademic concerns.
