In accordance with DepEd Memorandum DM-OUCI-2021-395 dated September 20, 2021, from the Office of the Undersecretary for Curriculum and Instruction on Promoting Academic Honesty, its goal is to produce holistically developed learners, the Department of Education reiterates its stand on maintaining academic honesty while upholding every learner’s integrity.

      In line with this, Cataning Elementary School conducted an orientation on Promoting Academic Honesty. 

     The orientation started with a singing of Pilipinas Kong Mahal, followed by a prayer through AVP, then a roll call who was led by Mrs. Jacquelyn D. Tallorin; Teacher 1. Then, our hardworking and amazing principal, Mrs. Agnes O. Magdalera; Principal IV delivered her welcome remarks.

    A recorded video on Regional Orientation on the Promotion of Academic Honesty was presented and it was started by a welcome remark by Rhoda T. Razon; EdD. CESO V. (Schools Division Superintendent Office-in-Charge Office of the Assistant Regional Director), then a message from May B. Eclar, Phd, CESO III; Regional Director. A statement of purpose was delivered by William G. Bacani, PhD; Chief Human Development Division, introduction of the participants by John Carlo Magtoto; Education Program Specialist II, HRDD-NEAP III.

     The following topics were discussed:

• Academic Honesty (What is expected of you?)
• Definition of Academic Honesty and Academic Dishonesty
• Forms of Academic Dishonesty
• Cheating
• Plagiarism
• Fabrication or Falsification
• Immediate Actions to Protect Academic Integrity and Ensure the Veracity of

Learner’s Assessment Results  

          After the discussion, certificates of participation were given.

          Mrs. Joyce U. Deticio; Teacher 1 was the moderator.

          Last October 15, 2021 (Friday), Parents’ Orientation on Promoting Academic Honesty was done.

          The moderator of the said orientation was Mrs.Marian C. Robles; Teacher II. It was started by a prayer through AVP, followed by a roll call who was led by Mrs. Joyce U. Deticio. Then, welcome remarks by our beloved principal, Mrs. Agnes O. Magdalera; Principal IV.

            Mrs. Jennifer A. Quiroz: Master Teacher 1, comprehensively tackled the topics on Promoting Academic Honesty.

            Lastly, Mrs. Elena V. Almario gave her Inspirational Message.

            The said orientation enlightened us that academic dishonesty should not be tolerated.
