Proverbs is a popular truth or belief expressed in short memorable sentence. It has a deep meaning that can be applied in real situation in our life.
One of the best reference materials in teaching GMRC is the use of proverbs. Many proverbs can be applied to specific situations. Here are some proverbs that help teaching GMRC:
On Truthfulness
– Honesty is the best policy
– An honest man is the noblest work of God
On Helpfulness and Cooperation
– In unity there is strength
– He who helps in time of need is a friend indeed
On Promptness and Punctuality
– Time is gold
– Never put off for tomorrow what you can do today
On Trustworthiness
– The words of a liar cannot be trusted
– Trust him not who has once broken in faith
On Kindness
– Love and kindness cannot be bought or sold. They can only be given and taken again
– Whatever good deed you do now is the treasure of tomorrow
On Thrift and Conservation
– Never spend your money before you have earned it
– He who will not toil shall not live
On Obedience
– The man who does not obey has no right to command
– Just follow so long as the way is clear and safe
On Sportsmanship
