“Teacher’s affects eternity; no one call tell where their influence stops.” -HENRY BROOKS ADAMS
The latter quote may sound so cliche` and overused, but it really defines a teacher in one simple statement.
A teacher is someone we use to call “Ma’am or Madam” or sometimes “Sir”. But no matter what gender they belong in, one thing is for sure, they affect us in one way or another. Some even say that if there are no teachers, there will be no engineers, doctors, lawyers or any other professionals. And I couldn’t agree more.
Teachers play a decisive role in a students life. From teaching the basic of the alphabet and counting, to the complicated functions of trigonometry and many more. But what qualities make a good teacher? Is it her smile and caring words? Or her strictness yet being thoughtful at the same time?
I guess a teacher should just nnot be someone who teaches her ‘lessons’, but someone who can teach the lessons of life as well. Someone who can make a very complicated and difficult topic look like something ordinary. A teacher should be strict yet sweet. Someone you’ll be afraid of but someone you’ll love.
For me, no one can really define what a teacher is, or what are the good qualities of a teacher. But there’s one thing we cannot deny, anyone can teach but not everyone can become a teacher.
