Developing social awareness and national identity are the primary reasons of studying social science subjects. Indeed,we get closer to various events of the past, present and future once we get along with the facts and information that social science provides. As part of the school, it is advisable that you have to be updated with the relevant data that affect your life as well as of others.
In the present time, social science is still a part of the school curriculum and continues to influence the learners in the way they project themselves in the community where they live. It is essential that the school offers quality social science education for the students not to get bored and to be much interested in the discussion of the salient aspects of this field of study.
In order to achieve quality in teaching social science education among the youth of today, the teacher should be well-knowledgeable on the subject. You have to be books away from the learners that is your reservoir of knowledge should be overflowing for the students need to learn a lot and they have more inquisitive minds as compared to that of the past.
Another thing is the manner of delivery. The teachers should employ the very efficient and most effective means of educating the learners. They should be freed from the conventional and chalk-talk way of teaching. They should be another tool of teaching the subject which would intensify their craving to learn and to unravel the unknown facts and figures of history.
It is not mere lecturing or teaching, what we need at present is the most appropriate method to instil the importance of the societal happenings to us and to our country as well.
Touching the hearts of the learners is one of the educational objectives of social science. Once they were able to have the traces of the past and relate them to the present for sure they will be able to realize that life is worth living because the historical figures and events contributed for what we have at present. Seemingly, social science teaches us how to be love the people who made our society and for what we are now.
Additionally, in order to achieve quality education in teaching social science, the resourcefulness and creativity of the teacher must be elevated. The teacher should not be complacent on the texts as provided by books and other reading materials instead other further researches and verifications of facts and information should be conducted in order to have clarity and veracity in teaching.
Achieving quality in teaching social science is not that easy but the results and future effects will be very much rewarding!
