Learning to become effective in all subject areas lies on the learners ability to read.  If a pupil is a good reader, he can easily understand the lesson thus he has more chances to succeed than those learners who find it hard to read.  As such, the teachers, as well as the parents must do their best to make their children develop the ability to read.

One way of helping our children to read is by teaching them the proper way of reading.  We can’t expect them to read anything he has not heard and experience so we need to start teaching them with sounds, words, phrases and simple sentences.

According to Strang and others, Reading is the most important subject to be learned by children, children will learn little in today’s world if they do not first learn to read properly.  Studies reveal that the poor readers become the delinquent, unemployed and the problem of our society.

Let us encourage our children to develop their reading habit because it will greatly affect their tomorrow.
