Effective reading begets effective learning. The foundation of effective learning can be attributed to the effectiveness in reading.
Those children who have reading difficulty are those children who lack the habit of reading resulting to poor performance in school. Poor performance rooted to lack of comprehension in reading in any subject area, hindering their ability to learn, and poor reading performance rooted to lack of reading habit.
One way of helping our children to read, is by reading to them a short story at least 20 minutes before bedtime. In that way, children’s interest to read the stories he / she heard is also awakened.
One cannot expect a child to easily learn how to read, but it will establish the willingness to learn reading.
Encouragement he / she receives at him will give him / her a good start so she can be effective in reading resulting in effective learning.
