Teaching is one of the most exciting and rewarding professions that an individual can embark on.  Before someone makes a life changing decision, he/she must realize if he/she has the following:

You have passion for teaching. Teaching is not always a bed of roses.  It is difficult profession that requires sufficient intelligence, strength and effort.  It is not only teaching and dealing with one kind of student or pupil but with a variety of individuals with different attitudes and behaviors. Also, the duties and responsibilities of a teacher go beyond the classroom setting even extends outside.

You have passion for young people.Interpersonal intelligence is a must in the teaching profession.  You need to establish goodwill and harmony in order to execute educational goals and objectives.  Furthermore, the young people you will be caring for will be your subjects in the process of development and growth.

You want to make a difference.As a teacher, you have to be a model of good character and excellence.  You have to be a stand among the rest in educating the learners.  You are being an exceptional one not just for yourself but also to influence and guide others, particularly your learners.

You are skilled at instructing people in a variety of ways.Teaching concepts in different ways and strategies should be the prime asset of a teacher since this will be your means to make a change in the learner.  Having employed variety of ways to educate would be enviable.

 

You are a team player.Be willing to take part in the organization.  He or she should do his/her role and find a place under the sun.  As a teacher, you have to cooperate with your peers for the benefit of the entire organization.

You can handle stress factors.Be ready to face the stress brought by the profession and of the job.  Be sure that you are willing to take the risk of involving you mental and physical powers to do the responsibilities of a teacher.
