It is really disheartening to hear that the Department of Education tops the most corrupt of the government .

Being a teacher it pains me to be attributed a corrupt public servant .

Truly , the national government has a huge budget allocation for the Department of Education . With this budget , the government through the Department of Education should focus on viable and relevant education programs to make effective use of this tempting budget .

Truly , this big budget won’t make any difference at all,  if not spent wisely for educational programs .

For basic education , the central thrust should be back to basics . This means building enough classrooms with science laboratories , speech laboratories and well-equipped libraries .

Dedicated teachers who are well- motivated by higher compensation and perks must also be considered to have a relevant education program .

With this, “smart classrooms” that are wired with computer and Internet connections should also be regarded as a relevant education program .

Providing generic adequacy to students in the fields of science, math , reading and writing which should be the basic objectives of the schools , along with the course in civics and culture must also be enhanced .

Try relevant education  programs for sure , corruption shall be weeded out .
