Relative to the imminent closing school year, students who neglected their studies are on the critical level of getting at least the passing grade despite the fact that mentors are helping them whenever there is a lesson in which a student doesn’t comprehendcompletely. Nevertheless, teachers are providing students some innovations such as strategic intervention materials (SIM), modules, worksheets and the like. These materials are of great help for the students but then they ought to undergo remedial teaching using the said materials. Teaching is a never ending learning. According to Howard Hendricks the author of the book Teaching to Change Lives, the law of the teacher is that, “if you stop growing today, you stop teaching tomorrow”. Indeed, a teacher must always endeavor to learn because knowledge is not static. In addition to the teaching and learning process between the teacher and the students, a remedial class is occasionally a task on the part of the teacher whenever it is essential and crucial to prevent failures among the students –at – risk. The objectives of remedial teaching is to give additional help to students who for one reason or another have fallen behind the rest of the class in the subject and to understand thoroughly the strengths and weaknesses of their students so that appropriate teaching approaches can be adopted to meet their individual needs. Confidence is pretty obvious in the students if the teacher manages them to grasp the lessons thoroughly. Furthermore, students would be too positive and optimistic of what they learned from the teacher who inculcates on the importance to distinguish what they understand from what they do not understand before. Consequently, instead of having a tough decision of giving failed grades, teachers compel to supervise remedial classes to students-at-risk.
