Research is a continuous discovery and exploration of the unknown to expand and verify existing knowledge. It is the manipulation of things, concepts, or symbols for the purpose of generalizing and to extend correct and verify knowledge, whether the knowledge is in the construction of a theory or in the practice of an art. It  also refers to the activity of collecting information in an orderly and systematic fashion. It also assumes the role of shaping the nations future. For beginning student, it is a process of gathering data or information to solve a particular or specific problem in scientific manner.

Research is important in improving instruction because through research we can be able to obtain information we need through different approaches for us to do and apply. It is very important to know which one is applicable or not to achieve our goals. It also help us to discover new things that we can be able to use in instruction. It is also a way for us to gain solutions to a problem in case there is one. Research can be use in achieving quality education in a way that will help us know which approaches and techniques is applicable and which is not. Furthermore, it is also a way to know what serves as a hindrance in order to have a quality education.
