Parents play a vital role in the growth and development of their children.  They are one of the factors that may help the school to make learning possible for their child.  Encouraging the child to study, do his assignment and find time and ways to monitor the child’s learning achievements can be done by parents.  Another is that they should provide a better atmosphere at home as well as educational materials needed by the child.  They must be given enough time to study. They should guide and help the child in studying their lessons especially the difficult one.

            Too much household chores and more time spend in playing can also be a hindrance in their studies.  Parents must limit their playtime, as well as the use of high technology materials such as computers, video games and other gadgets because these may affect the proper study habits of the child.  A good study habit will be effective only if there is a freedom from distraction from the surroundings.

            Remember it is not only the school that contributes learning but also the parents.  They have to instill in their child’s mind the importance of having a good study habit for them to achieve meaningful and higher learning.
