Homework is a school work to be done outside the classroom to be done at home. Here are some tips for parents in helping their child accomplish his homework.

 

  1. Set the workplace of the child. The workplace must be well-organized and quiet to do his homework. Avoid having your child do homework where he may be distracted, like near the doorways, the television set where there are a lot of people.
  2. Provide enough materials needed to do his homework. Your child must have paper, pencil, dictionary and other references except his textbook in school. If buying materials such as a dictionary and other references is not possible.
  3. Set specific time for doing his homework. It is very important to set a specific time when your child should be doing his homework daily.
  4. Motivate his to be positive about homework. Teach your child to think positively about homework. Tell him that doing homework is important, because it helps him understand lesson better.
  5. Do your housework as your child does his homework. Your role as parents is to mercy guide your child, not to do or answer his homework.
  6. Give rewards. If your child did his homework well and worked hard to finish it give a reward.
