Teachers are now subjected to a better rating system.  This is in accordance to Executive Order No. 80 which President Benigno S. Aquino III issued to adopt a Performance Based Incentive System for government employees. . The system links the teachers’ performance with the Department of Education’s organizational performance to enhance the performance orientation of the compensation system

With its implementation, teachers need to know the purposes of the new performance evaluation system or the Result Performance Management System (RPMS)

            1.  RPMS will strengthen the performance monitoring and appraisal systems based on existing systems.

            2.  RPMS will improve the department’s service delivery by linking personnel incentive to the unit’s performance and recognizing and rewarding exemplary performance in the sector.

            3.  RPMS will establish a Performance Based Incentive Scheme that aligns the teachers’ efforts to the department’s performance to reward exemplary teachers and well-performing schools.

Strengthening, harmonizing and integrating performance and accountability systems in the department will pave the way for a much improved educational service in the country. And with this, teachers will realize their value in the whole organization and will be able to align the work to the organizational and national goals.
