It is indeed that education is a never- ending process. Like in the system of education in our country, every now and then there are changes for the betterment of the quality of education. Even in the system of evaluation for teachers, it is always bombarded with various changes from CB- PAST and now there you have the KRA from the Result- Based Performance Management System.
Changes like this at the beginning seems to be a burden to us teachers. Yes, a burden… Try to imagine our tons of works in school, our personal problems at home plus the personal problems of our students. All of these bothered us every day. And as the government, released this new change RPMS, it really sounds that teachers are being punished. So how could a teacher can whole- heartedly accept this change?
But of course, since education is really a never- ending process, and teachers are considered as the catalyst of change, we teachers should accept this with an open arms. It might really hard at the beginning, but we must remember that “Great things start from small beginnings.” To stop all worries and complains regarding this, the first answer to this is our ACCEPTANCE. And as we accept this change, we must also change our mindset.
As an educators, we should always win the battle with this kind of changes. We must always seek all the opportunities that could improve the services we could offer for our learners for them to be equipped and be globally competitive with this fast- changing world.
As a teacher, let us prove that we are catalysts of change. Let us be committed in providing quality education for our learners by continuously develop ourselves.
