Phil Robertson once said that “a job without an education is like a man on drugs: it’s not a great combination what-so-ever.” It is in this reason that we must strive harder to educate our youth for it is through them that we will be able to achieve success in our society. It is like planning tomorrow, today. How can we achieve this? How can we work on developing the future of our society? For me, it must start in school. They should see that the school is where they could find enjoyment, acceptance, freedom, and comfort.
First of all, let us make our school a place of enjoyment for our students. Let us create activities that are engaging, fun to do with and memorable for our students so they will look forward in attending our classes. Let us always remember that students today are exposed to the internet and that they easily learn things in just one click. With that, we must make sure that what we do in class will challenge them to think, to perform and participate.
Furthermore, we should make school a place where everyone is accepted. In this world where the society is cruel and indifferent especially to the ethnic group and to the not physically able, we should show everyone is accepted regardless of their race, ethnicity, religion, sex and physical attributes. We should make students feel that they have a family in school.
Moreover, a school should be a place where everyone enjoys freedom. Let us remember the old adage that a child raised in an environment that is free from harm and abused is a child that is happy and secure. He will grow up responsible, loving and secured with himself and his capabilities. Now that the child protection policy guides everyone in the academe of their responsibility to the students, let us bear in mind that the moiré it will help us allow our students to enjoy life to the fullest without having them take advantage of the freedom that they are enjoying. Let us heave them to enjoy freedom but let us also remind them that it is coupled with responsibility so they will not abuse it.
Lastly, it is very important to be knowledgeable about life and your surroundings. With this, let us allow our students to have comfort every time that they are in school. The Department of Education through the efforts of the Division Schools Superintendent, Dr. Tarcila Javier had made sure that every classroom in the Division of Bataan is equipped with the resources that would make the students comfortable attending school. We should not also forget that coupled with the comfort that our students experience in school is because we have lesser students in the class now as it was before.
In conclusion, furthering making the school a better place to live in is very important, for making it a school of peace, freedom, and love that would make our students knowledgeable about life is a great step towards realizing our dreams of making our society a better place to live in and finally making our students knowledgeable about life, will help us achieve our mission and vision of making our graduates globally competitive.
