School Bullying is a type of bullying that occurs in an educational setting. Bullying can be physical, sexual, verbal or emotional in nature.
School bullying may be more specifically characterized by: 1. An intention to harm, 2. Victimization, distress, 3.Repetition, 4.Power-inequity and 5. Provocation.
Whatever forms of bullying in school, the long term effect of it are numerous and can include sensitivity, anxiety and depression. It is then important to have a team effort on the part of teachers and parents to understand if bullying is happening inside the classroom or even in the campus and be able to recognize the signs and root cause of bullying from both bullies and victims. As teachers, we play a vital role in order to know what ever appropriate countermeasures and interventions to be addressed on both parties and provide proper actions to be administered the scones possible time in order to minimize or eradicate school bullying.
