School Clean-up and Green Month Event is the activity implemented by the Department of Education to boost the awareness of the school to clean and green surroundings. The comprehensive program is focused to the collective efforts of the school staff, parents and pupils to achieving full clean and green status.
The Clean and Green Task Force can be utilized during the Clean and Green Month at the school garden.
In the inception of the Clean and Green Task Force, the school must initiate clean and green activities like cleaning the school yard, planting and watering plants after class hours.
Different broad areas of interest for subsequent consideration should be strictly identified and followed particularly the clean and green building program.
The general procedural goals of school are:
- Provide useful and timely data to inform the pupils about the resources available on living sustainably and keeping the school clean;
- Adopt School Plan policies that integrate land use, circulation, open
space, design elements, energy use and conservation practices so that
a school is the natural and inevitable consequence of the proper application of the policies;
- Ensure policy follow-through, adopt implementation plans, updated programs and revised regulations that facilitate sustainable development, maintenance and operations;
- Recognize the need to lead by example and commits to developing school projects that demonstrate the benefits of proven sustainable action at the cutting edge.
- Particularly in the areas of clean air, the school will work with school staff and all pupils to design and implement programs to which school contributes and receives benefits.
As in all things, there is both more and less that can be done, however, we find the following list of programs reasonably inclusive, with the potential for attainable results yielding genuine benefits for the school and community.
